Gift guide · Wedding · Under AUD $1,500
At fifteen hundred Australian dollars, you are gifting a piece that belongs in a trousseau. This is the band where parents-in-law buy a Banarasi saree for the daughter-in-law, where elder sisters buy a festive anarkali for a younger sibling's wedding, where aunts buy a gift that says 'this is for every festive season for the next ten years.' Below is the shortlist criteria, four to six pieces we'd ship gift-boxed, and the most common mistakes we see at this band.
What to look for
01
At $1,500 the piece must be made well enough to last 20 years. Pure mulberry silk, real silver-gilt zari, hand-laid embroidery. Polyester at this band is a betrayal of the gesture.
02
For gifts over $1,000 we offer a custom inside-tag with the recipient's name and the date. The weaver's name stays. Adds $40, takes 2 weeks.
03
A Banarasi saree, a Chanderi anarkali, a chikankari kurta — these enter the trousseau. A theme-coloured cocktail piece for one wedding does not.
04
For gifts at this band we coordinate with the recipient's mother or sister to confirm measurements without spoiling the surprise. We do this often.
05
Every piece in this band ships muslin-wrapped inside a custom gift-box with a hand-tied silk ribbon and a hand-written note. The packaging is part of the value.

Common mistakes
Gifting a wedding-day-weight piece. The recipient already has (or will commission) their wedding-day pieces with the family. A gift at this band should be sangeet, reception, or festive register — never the wedding-day-itself.
Choosing fashion-trend colours that date quickly. Heirloom gifts work in tonal palettes — ivory, sage, dusty rose, oxblood — that will look right in 2030 as much as in 2026.
Skipping the inside-tag personalisation. The custom-tag with the recipient's name is the difference between a gift and a thoughtful gift.
Trying to deliver same-week. Custom-stitched gifts in this band need 4–8 weeks. Plan from the engagement, not from the save-the-date.
Common questions
$500: re-wearable everyday or festive piece — kurta set, Chanderi saree, dupatta. $1,500: heirloom-grade trousseau piece — Banarasi saree, festive anarkali, chikankari ensemble. Both bands are gift-credible; the $1,500 band is for closer family.
Yes — we have two options. One: coordinate with the recipient's family to get measurements quietly. Two: gift a piece that doesn't require stitching (a saree without blouse pre-stitched), and the recipient gets their own blouse stitched on receipt. We recommend option one.
Our packaging is muslin and natural fibre with a small embossed Aratrikkaz tag inside the lid. Restrained, atelier-style. If you prefer fully un-branded packaging, ask at checkout.
Yes. Multi-address orders are supported. Each piece ships in its own gift-box. We coordinate timing so both pieces arrive on the same day.
